5.2 Data collected, purposes, legal bases

Contact form

Data: name, email address, organisation (optional), role (optional), audience type, subject, message, IP address and browser User-Agent.
Purpose: replying to your request and keeping a record of the exchange.
Legal basis: your consent and Water Yourself’s legitimate interest in handling incoming requests.
Processors: Resend (email delivery), Cloudflare Turnstile (anti-spam).
Retention: 3 years from the last contact, then deletion or off-line archiving.

Data: email address, preferred language.
Purpose: sending you the Water Yourself monthly newsletter and the subscriber-only resources.
Legal basis: your consent, collected at sign-up.
Processor: Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, Paris).
Retention: until you unsubscribe (link present in every email) or withdraw your consent.

Resource unlock

When you unlock a resource from the library, the “unlocked” state is stored locally in your browser (localStorage). No data is sent to Water Yourself at that moment and no email is sent to you; the link simply becomes active on the site for the duration of your session.

Audience measurement

The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless and tracker-free analytics solution. The statistics collected (page views, country, device type) are aggregated and anonymised; they cannot be used to identify visitors individually. For that reason, no consent banner is required.

Anti-spam protection

The forms (contact, newsletter) are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that you are not a bot without using tracking cookies. Your IP address is sent to Cloudflare only for the duration of the verification.

5.3 Transfers outside the EU

Some of our processors are based in the United States (Cloudflare, Resend). These transfers are framed by the Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission and, where applicable, by their participation in the Data Privacy Framework. Brevo is based in France.

5.4 Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights over your personal data:

the right to have your data erased;
the right to restrict processing;
the right to data portability;
the right to object to processing, in particular for the newsletter;
the right to withdraw your consent at any time.

To exercise these rights, email us at [email protected]. We reply within one month at most. If you consider that your rights are not being respected, you may lodge a complaint with the French CNIL (cnil.fr) or any other competent data protection authority.

5.5 Cookies

The site does not use any advertising cookie, any third-party analytics cookie or any social media tracker. Only cookies that are strictly necessary for the site’s operation and its anti-spam protection may be set. No consent banner is required for these uses.
